Deliciousness in pictures.

This pizza was heavenly. It was 10:30 in the morning and when I laid my eyes on it I just had to have it!

One thing that is so endearing about Portland is how dog-friendly it is. You see them everywhere. On sidewalks at a restaurant, in the parks, going for a stroll. I’ve seen so many little dog water bowls outside of establishments and I think a city that embraces pets is so fantastic. While it brings a smile to my face to see so many furry friends, it makes me miss Olive all the more. She’d love it here!

Last night I arrived in Portland, a city I’ve been wanting to visit for oh-so long. I’m here on a sort of “self discovery” if you will. I’m taking some letterpress classes, exploring the city, and spending some time figuring out things. I’m staying at HI-Portland Northwest, a hostel located in a quintessentially charming neighborhood. There’s a Trader Joe’s about two blocks away. Last night I got: a bottle of wine, 2 big bottles of water, a salmon salad, bananas, and a reusable tote all for $9. Amazing. I’m off to the farmer’s market here in a bit, but I wanted to post to let you know the status of my trip! My first letterpress class is today at 11:00-huzzah!
Just Cool.

Century Modern

Yesterday after work I took a detour to the antique mall and spent quite some time perusing the aisles. I bought a few postcards for The Benevolent Postcard Society and took lots of pictures of Century Modern furniture that I desire to have. Some day. Here are some of my favorites from the outing.

A delicious Herman Miller chair. Did you know that, according to Wikipedia, Miller is credited with the invention of the office cubicle? I didn’t.

With some convincing, Travis and I are going to get this piece for the dining room. I love it.

I want to sit at this vanity in a vintage night gown and get ready for a fabulous cocktail party. Unfortunately, when you live in a 1,100 square foot house, there’s not a lot of room for those sort of daydreams.

This piece reminded me of something I recently saw on Young House Love, a great blog to check out if you’re into decorating, refurbishing, and saving some cash!

I love the detail in the glass on this little cabinet.
Perhaps with a little saving (and the help of layaway) I can accrue some more Century Modern finds!
