Into the Garden, Portland Style

Portland is home to some of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. Here are some of my favorites from the Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, and Rose Garden.
In the middle of the city is the Chinese Garden, a modern day Oasis in the city center.

Proof I was actually there:

After the Chinese Garden, I traveled over to Washington Park, the home of the Japanese Garden and Rose Gardens.
Words cannot express the lush beauty of the Japanese Garden. Actually, my tour guide described the garden quite well. When embarking on our tour he claimed that the Japanese Garden, unlike other gardens that are a “riot of color” is more like a “riot of green.” I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

Regretfully, my camera ran out of juice at the end of the Japanese Gardens, so I had to resort to the iPhone for the Rose Garden pictures. I’m afraid that the iPhone just cannot do this garden justice, it was breathtaking. Not to mention, it smelled so delightful.

My favorite:

So pretty!
