Something Old, Something Blue

….well, teal to be exact.
While planning my wedding, trips to antique malls, antique shows, and garage sales have become part of the norm. With a wedding theme like kitschy-vintage-whimsy-casual, you’re destined to spend a lot of time perusing long lost treasures.
I wanted to share with you some of my favorite finds thus far that will grace tabletops and other nooks and crannies of our par-tay.

We’re going to make these vintage hankies into pillows for the lounge/cocktail area. Tossing about the idea of putting a monogram in the middle, as well.

We’ve been collecting an assortment of bird and/or teal or orange vases to use in the tablescapes. Aren’t they sooo fun?

An aerial view of all of the vases. Swans, birds, figurines, I cannot wait to decorate with them after the wedding, too!

This one’s probably my favorite find. We’ll mount it and frame it to be placed at the “check-in” table with the escort cards. Love!
What fun finds did you or will you incorporate into your wedding, party, or event? I’d love to hear!
I love all of the antique finds!! I’m a huge fan of monogramming so I think that’s a great idea! : )
I found an old window at a resale shop near my house – I painted it and attached hanging hooks to the back. Now it’s a piece of art/picture frame of a bridal picture, an engagement picture, and a wedding picture during our ceremony. I love taking old pieces and finding a way to incorporate them into a new design!
Great finds!
That’s kind of the theme I am using! I’ve been looking through antique-stores and thrift stores for bird cages and other vintage items to decorate at my reception. We’re doing a vintage-whimsy/eclectic theme with birds and music tied into it.
