Happy New Year!

2010 in review

As the year comes to a close, I’ve found myself reflecting on these past 12 months and have come to the conclusion that 2010 was a really wonderful year. It had its ups and downs and challenges, but above all of those things I feel like I have come out in a really good place. I’m whole heartedly excited about 2011 and have huge plans and expectations for myself and Blue Eye Brown Eye. But before I move forward, I wanted to look back on some highlights of 2010.

Of course, the year started off with the best moment of my life – getting married to Mr. Essl!

Made only more perfect by a surprise and completely random snow storm in March in Texas. I’ll never forget it. Here’s a picture outside of our hotel room the next morning after our wedding:

The honeymoon was a little slice of Heaven and I never wanted it to end.

But alas, all things come to an end and when I returned from the honeymoon it was time to get my head on straight and really amp up the business. Since leaving my job in advertising a year and a half ago (I can’t believe its been that long) I have had the goal of starting my own business. After months of planning, prepping, and learning, I finally jumped in head first and started Blue Eye Brown Eye officially as a business. From small jobs to craft shows and everything in between, I’ve had a lot of great experiences this year and feel so excited about the year to come.

Conducting letterpress classes has been a real highlight of the year, as well. Before I took my trip to Portland, I found letterpress resources hard to come by in the D/FW area so I thought I’d start doing my own classes in my home. I’ve been thrilled with the response and have enjoyed getting to know every single person that has walked through my door.

And of course, Olive has been and will always be a highlight of every year.

How was your year? Do you have favorite memories?

Merry Christmas!

It’s Christmas Eve and I’m going to check out from the internets for a few days. I wish you peace, happiness, lots of laughter, and everything you asked Santa for this holiday season! Eat lots, drink your wine, and enjoy every moment.

P.S. I just love this photo – the colors are yummy!

Cupcake garland

Browsing etsy this morning, I found Camera Crazy, a shop with beautiful photography. But something else caught my eye: I love the styling of this photo and this cupcake wrapper garland! Genius!
