After Renegade Craft Fair wrapped up Sunday night Trav and I decided to stay in town for a fun date night. We followed the suggestion of a friend and went to El Arbol for dinner and sat under the glorious oak tree on the patio. The food was divine. And so was the company.

Yesterday I got back into town from spending a few days in Austin for Renegade Craft Fair. It was such a fun experience and quite nice to get away for a little bit. Here are a few pictures of the fair.

Homako, out of L.A., makes amazingly cute jewelry and I bought this necklace from them.

Posters from Public School.

Monogram prints from Little Things Studio. I snagged this E.

Soap from Fort Worth local Soap Addict.

I loved this display and the amazing journals from Millions of People Happy.

Always a favorite of mine – Paloma’s Nest.

And here’s my booth, #130!

Thank you kindly letterpress sets were a big seller!

New monogram sets made of vintage wood type made their debut – and will be appearing online at Anthropologie.com very soon!

If you’re going to be in Austin this weekend – even if you’re not – it’s worth the trip, stop by Renegade Craft Fair! It’s at the Palmer Events Center both Saturday and Sunday from 11 am – 7 pm. It’s my first Renegade ever – to visit and to show. I’m super pumped. There’s a bevy of really talented vendors and I’m fairly certain any money I make will go straight back into shopping. It’s a free event, so bring your family and friends and get your shop on!

I’ll be at Booth 130, and if you present this coupon below, you’ll get free stuff while supplies last!

Molly’s Getting Married

May 16, 2011 § 4 Comments

My oldest and best friend growing up, Molly, is getting married this July in Chicago. I cannot wait. I was honored to do her wedding invitations for her – appropriately themed in Chicago red and aqua. Molly’s getting married to Brian at a very cool venue in Chicago – Kitchen Chicago – and the event will be intimate and personal to the two of them. One idea I loved of Molly’s for the invitation suite was a song request on the reply card. They’ve asked all of their guests to make a request so they can mold the play list at the reception around favorite songs. So smart! Congrats Molly and Brian!

Yellow and Grey Letterpress Suite

May 5, 2011 § 3 Comments

It’s a wrap! Just finished this invitation suite for my friend Anna’s yellow and grey summer wedding this June! She’s been vibing on the hearts from her Save the Dates and Thank You’s so I pulled those into this suite, and gave it a bit of a vintage twist with type elements and the vintage stamps (the North Carolina stamp was just too perfect). The calligraphy style is one of my favorites – a whimsical, organic script. The white ink on grey just pops!

Help fund printing history

You’ve heard of Kickstarter, right? Well this is a very cool project I just stumbled upon via Twitter. When I went to Portland to learn how to print, I first learned at the IPRC where the owners of KeeganMeegan & Co. monitored classes and helped me learn the fine art of printing. Now they are hoping to raise enough money to salvage a rare press and a piece of history. If you love printing, check out their Kickstarter page and donate if you can. Every dollar counts!

I’m so excited to announce something that has been in the works for awhile now. Blue Eye Brown Eye stationery can now be found at an Anthropologie near you! After a lot of work, organizing, and help from my friends and family, this mom stitched card, made exclusively for Anthropologie, is available in stores now. This has been such an exciting endeavor, with more to come! So if you’re shopping for a mother’s day card, visit your local Anthro and grab a handmade stitched card by Blue Eye Brown Eye.
