Gold is Good
Hands down, gold is the most requested ink color these days. She is the “it” girl. It is good to be gold.
I wanted to share with you my favorite gold ink – Dr. Ph. Martin’s Copperplate Gold. It is so fluid, so pretty, and dries lighting fast. It is just pretty wonderful.
Something to note about metallics – as you use them, the pretty pigment tends to sink to the bottom rather quickly. You’ll want to constantly give your ink a little stir or shake as you work with it to keep the color consistent. If you’re new to calligraphy, I recommend getting yourself a bottle of gold ink. It will reinvigorate your practicing regimen and make you happy!

Love this–thank you for sharing! Can you recommend paper that won’t cause the ink to bleed? I am using Higgins black ink and I can’t write on any other paper besides the nearly transparent white paper I purchased for practicing. I would like to be able to write quotes to hang and to gift as well as even address envelopes. Thank you so much!
