Workhorse Printmakers in Houston
Last week I went on a little calligraphy road trip – first departing to Houston, then to Austin, then back home to Fort Worth. Most of the trip was sunny and breezy – the perfect combination for long hours in the car with the windows down and the music up. This was my first trip to Houston to teach classes, and I was so so happy with the experience. I found the venue, a combo print/design shop called Workhorse Printmakers and Spindletop Design, through Style Me Pretty. The folks there were so nice to let me set up shop. It didn’t hurt that I was totally enamored with their workspace and hospitality. Oh, and not to mention their design aesthetic and talent. Man, they’re good.
I felt a pang of longing being around their beautiful presses all night long, I won’t lie – I miss printing greatly. Sometimes business decisions can be tough. But it’s a wonderful thing surrounding yourself with creatives and surroundings like this one.
Major gorgeous branding and business cards – am I right? Thank you so much, John and Jenn, and to your team for being so hospitable and kind. And thank you to the wonderful ladies who came to class! It was a great night.
Hi! Are you planning on making any trips to Houston for a class soon? Or, are there any Houston companies that you recommend for a similar calligraphy class teaching style?
Thank you for your time!

May I ask, what lens do you use for most of your photography? Any tips on how to capture the crispness and brightness in your photos above?
